Arne Slot fires warning to Arsenal & Man City after Premier League title

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was in a confident mood when thinking about next season.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot warned that his freshly crowned Premier League champions would "improve" next season in their bid to hold off Arsenal and Manchester City once again.
The Reds were officially confirmed as top-flight winners after last weekend's 5-1 thumping of Tottenham Hotspur, yet they had been champions-elect for several months. Some have pointed to a perceived drop-off in Slot's side, with dissenting voices gathering momentum after Liverpool were dumped out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup in the same week.
A more objective overview shines a particularly flattering light on Slot's outfit.
Despite these array of accomplishments, Slot still wants more. "If I felt we couldn't improve as a team, we would have a problem because I know for sure Manchester City and Arsenal will improve," the Dutch boss noted ahead of Sunday's trip to Chelsea.
"That improvement will also come by bringing in new players because that's what they did for so many years. We may have set the example [by making few additions] but I don't think that is going to happen!"
Slot has played down Liverpool's potential outlay in the upcoming summer window, although Virgil van Dijk insists it will be a "big summer" of incomings and outgoings.
Van Dijk's decision to sign a contract extension - following on from Mohamed Salah's commitment to the club - reduce Liverpool's transfer demand. However, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding both full-back positions and the club are said to be after a central striker given the likely departure of at least one attacking outlet.
