Erling Haaland was spotted leaving Manchester City's FA Cup quarter-final victory over Bournemouth on crutches after an ankle injury forced him off midway through the game.

Having netted City's first goal in an eventual 2-1 win, Haaland appeared to get his ankle caught under Bournemouth's Lewis Cook in a challenge which then sent him crashing into the advertising boards.

The Norway striker was in visible discomfort and eventually left the field to be replaced by Omar Marmoush, who went on to score the winner just two minutes after entering the fray to seal a semi-final spot against Nottingham Forest.

Asked for an update on Haaland after the final whistle, City manager Pep Guardiola told ITV: "I don't know yet, we will have to see."

Given the short turnaround before Wednesday's Premier League clash with Leicester City, Haaland's involvement against the Foxes now appears to be in serious doubt, while he also faces a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of the Manchester derby against Ruben Amorim's United on 6 April.

Should Haaland be forced into a spell on the sidelines, Guardiola would likely turn to January recruit Marmoush to lead his line. The Egyptian now has five goals from his first 11 games at City.
