Man Utd aiming to bolster attack with £60m Premier League star

Manchester United are poised to join the hotly competitive race to sign Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
Manchester United are poised to join the race to sign Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo this summer, a new report has claimed.
Attacking reinforcements will be a key point of emphasis for Ruben Amorim at the end of the 2024/25 season, with Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha another name the Red Devils supposedly boast a strong interest in.
Amorim has refused to deviate from the 3-4-2-1 formation which brought so much success at Sporting CP, and United could look to upgrade all three of the most advanced positions within the manager's current framework. Marcus Rashford and Antony are set to depart once they return from their respective loan spells, too.
The 25-year-old is set to attract plenty of interest from Premier League clubs this summer, with The Telegraph reporting that Man Utd are one of several teams keen on acquiring Mbeumo. Newcastle and Liverpool could also make a play for the Brentford star, while Arsenal are in need of greater depth in wide areas.
Potential Mbeumo buyers must've been emboldened by Thomas Frank's recent comments surrounding an imminent sale after adopting a hands-off approach during the January transfer window.
"If the price is right - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open to it," the Brentford boss recently revealed. "I've said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are ten clubs in the world who aren't selling clubs.
Brentford are likely to demand around £60m for Mbeumo, who has a contract in west London which expires 2026 plus the club option of an extra year. The Bees, who've gained a lofty reputation for their work in the transfer market, must surely regard the upcoming window as the optimal time to sell their coveted star.
