Matheus Cunha breaks silence on Man Utd transfer speculation

Matheus Cunha notched his 15th Premier League goal of the season to once again spark talk of a potential move to Manchester United.
Wolverhampton Wanderers talisman Matheus Cunha insists he remains "very committed' to the club amid continued transfer links to Manchester United.
The Brazilian netted his 15th goal of what's been a very productive individual Premier League season, in a game Wolves would comfortably win 3-0 against recently relegated Leicester City. The result represented a sixth straight victory for Vitor Pereira's side in the top flight – a feat the club haven't managed to achieve for almost 55 years.
Cunha has been the star player for Wolves in a campaign that had been fraught with relegation worries as recently as March, but his classy performances have attracted strong interest elsewhere despite the signing of a new contract earlier in the season.
How Matheus Cunha compares to Man Utd's strikers
Player | Games Played | Goals Scored | Minutes per Goal | Shots |
---|---|---|---|---|
Matheus Cunha | 29 | 15 | 156 | 95 |
Rasmus Hojlund | 28 | 3 | 554 | 24 |
Joshua Zirkzee | 32 | 3 | 464 | 28 |
He was coy when interviewed post-match, however, reaffirming his commitment to his current employers. "We are very committed to this club, everyone, and want to show the fans our capacity," the former RB Leipzig forward said. "We're starting to get the points we deserve and show everyone our work.
"I always say that I am always happy to play for this team. Sometimes my emotion is too much because I love to be here."
Head coach Pereira, who succeeded Gary O'Neil earlier in the season, admitted he can't determine what will happen in the future but conceded that Cunha is a "special" player. "This is a crystal ball, looking into the future. I don't have this crystal ball. I cannot say that he will leave. He is with us - committed with us - and we are happy with him," the Portuguese boss mused.
"He has a high quality game, he is a special player. He is committed, with his teammates, to help the club do the best we can until the end of the season."
