Millie Bright signs new Chelsea contract

Chelsea’s Millie Bright has signed a new contract keeping her at the WSL club until at least the summer of 2026
Chelsea captain Millie Bright has signed a contract with the London club until the summer of 2026, with the option of a further year.
The 31-year-old has been at Chelsea for more than a decade following her move from Doncaster Belles in 2014. She has amassed 280 appearances across all competitions so far and has won several WSL titles in that time, as well as four FA Cups and two League Cups.
Bright is Chelsea's longest-serving player and was named captain of the team ahead of the 2023/24 season, shortly after skippering England to the FIFA Women's World Cup final that summer. Bright has surpassed 80 caps for the Lionesses, having made her senior debut for the national team back in 2016, and was part of the historic Euro-winning team in the summer of 2022.
Speaking to the club website after putting pen to paper on a new deal, Bright said: "Representing this club and continuing our journey together was never a question to me. This club is my home. Chelsea runs through me. The legacy continues…"
Chelsea's head of women’s football, Paul Green, added: "Millie is the leader of the team and our longest serving player. This extension will take her into her 12th season at the club, which is a big achievement.
"Millie leads by example on and off the pitch and has been a key player in our success over the last decade. She recently became the player with the most WSL wins, a milestone reflecting the quality she continues to display."
