Arsenal will look to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad in 2025 but are unlikely to make many moves in January, reports have revealed.

An injury crisis contributed to an inconsistent start to the season for Arsenal, who have rediscovered their mojo in recent weeks but still find themselves down in fourth in the Premier League standings, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal have never been afraid to dip into the transfer market in January, recently recruiting the likes of Jorginho and Leandro Trossard, but ESPN state there are unlikely to be any such moves this time around.

The Athletic add there are plans for a number of attacking signings, including a new striker and a winger capable of offering high-level cover for Bukayo Saka.

Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and Sweden teammate Alexander Isak of Newcastle United are both among Arsenal's targets. The former could be available for around €70m (£58.2m), while the latter is expected to cost close to double that amount.

Meanwhile, Arsenal want to inject their midfield with more youth as they prepare for the departures of the ageing Jorginho and Thomas Partey at some point in the near future. Summer signing Mikel Merino is 28 and not helping bring the average age of the squad down.

Arsenal will also look to sign at least one new goalkeeper to compete with David Raya. Current deputy Neto is only on loan from Bournemouth, while there was already a desire to sign a high level third-choice stopper last summer.
