Tottenham leaning towards significant Ange Postecoglou sack decision

Tottenham are leaning towards dismissing manager Ange Postecoglou this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur could sack manager Ange Postecoglou even if he manages to lead the club to Champions League qualification, a report has revealed.
Spurs are on track to record their worst Premier League campaign in history, with an 18th defeat of the campaign leaving them 16th in the standings with just five games left to play. West Ham United sit one point behind and Spurs can thank a historically poor trio of promoted sides for keeping them out of a relegation battle.
With all that going on, Spurs still have the chance to sneak into next season's Champions League if they can win the Europa League. Postecoglou's side face Bodo/Glimt in the final four and would then do battle with either Manchester United or Athletic Club in the final.
It is also not ruled out that Postecoglou could be sacked sooner if Spurs are eliminated from the Europa League semi-finals.
Any departure could be mutually agreed, particularly if Postecoglou can leave with the Europa League trophy in his hands. He still has two years remaining on his contract and would require a sizeable pay-off if he is dismissed outright.
There is an acceptance that Postecoglou has faced unprecedented challenges this season, such as an unsustainable injury crisis, a dressing room leak and significant fan unrest directed at the ownership above him, and it is not ruled out that a strong finish to the season could build the positivity needed to keep him in the position next season.
Much could depend on Tottenham's search for a replacement. Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola is thought to be the dream target but is expected to sign a new contract, while Fulham's Marco Silva has also pledged his support to his current side.
Former manager Mauricio Pochettino has openly admitted his desire to return but is not expected to leave his current role as United States manager until after the 2026 World Cup at the earliest.
