William Saliba names his childhood dream club

Arsenal defender William Saliba names the club he has always dreamed of playing for.
William Saliba has insisted his childhood dream was to represent Arsenal, reaffirming his commitment to the Gunners in the face of transfer interest from Real Madrid.
Saliba's status as one of the world's best centre-backs, coupled with the fact his contract has just two years left to run, has seen him enter Madrid's sights as their next potential bargain signing, although the France international has already publicly insisted he has no plans to leave Arsenal.
While Saliba has discussed his admiration for Marseille, where he dazzled on loan during the 2021/22 season, the centre-back has now insisted it is Arsenal who hold the deepest connection with him.
When it was pointed out that Saliba must be living his childhood dream, the 24-year-old admitted: "Yeah, my childhood dream. I love it."
Saliba's continued declarations of support for Arsenal come as a huge boost to the club's desire to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future. Sporting director Andrea Berta has been tasked with thrashing out an agreement with the defender who, alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and Bukayo Saka, is currently tied to Arsenal until 2027.
That being said, fans will not rest easy until an extension is finalised, well aware of Madrid's pulling power and their willingness to pay enormous wages to players who promise to join on free transfers.
